Introducing two lightweight and high-performance sizes of reels for exclusive use in rock fishing baskets.

The compact 5050 and 5080 are recommended for fishing with a focus on handling and maneuverability, targeting fish such as horse mackerel, mackerel, Japanese horse mackerel, flathead, and red sea bream with a main line of up to 8 lb. The body and rotor are made of strong and lightweight carbon material “CI4+”, ensuring basic rigidity while keeping the weight down.

For fishing for large blue fish such as amberjack and yellowtail with a main line of 10 lb or more, the 9100 and 9120 are recommended for their robustness, rigidity, and lightness of winding. They adopt “HAGANE body” to firmly withstand the strong pull of blue fish. In addition, the gear ratio has been reviewed to make winding up light and not lose power.

Furthermore, it is a rock fishing basket dedicated reel that can be selected with aim, such as smooth single drag set according to the target fish, gear system “X-SHIP” that makes the rotation strong and smooth, “wide rotor” that can be smoothly cast even at the lowest point of the spool without touching the thread, and “parallel body” that reduces the resistance to line release during long casting. These reels incorporate Shimano’s cutting-edge technology.

HAGANE GEAR

A block of metal is pressed under high pressure and finished to micron-level precision without cutting. This unique technology, known as precision cold forging, produces gears that are hard, tenacious, and smooth to wind.

X SHIP

X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures, and allow for longer casts.

HAGANE BODY

The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.

PARELLEL BODY

Parallel Body is designed to improve dynamic line flow from the reel to the first guide. On many reels the spool is aligned slightly upwards towards the rod blank, but with Parallel Body it is at exactly 90° to the blank. The result is less line slapping the blank as it travels towards the first guide during casting.

AR C SPOOL

The spool has a special spool ring shape. This creates a rectifying effect on the line and realizes both suppression of line trouble and long casting performance.
