2022 year model

The Aldebaran BFS, a top choice for bait finesse fishing, has undergone a significant upgrade with the introduction of a newly designed magnetic brake system. The newly adopted FTB has a longer moving stroke, allowing for a wider range of brake settings.

Additionally, the magnetic rings have been rearranged to minimize the magnet's effect at the weakest brake setting, approaching zero as closely as possible. This suppresses excessive braking, while the low-inertia Magnum Light Spool III has a synergistic effect.

The result is maintaining the low trajectory that is a hallmark of the Aldebaran brand while extending the lure's life and preventing stalling until just before it hits the water. This enables anglers to send their lures deep into structure with a trajectory that crawls just above the water's surface, making the new Aldebaran a top contender for those looking to optimize their fishing experience.

FTB

A major challenge in improving the pitching performance of lightweight lures is to reduce the weight of the spool. Conventionally, weight reduction has been achieved by blanking the spool, but as long as a brake unit is attached, there is a limit. Shimano's proprietary FTB has now succeeded in developing the lightest spool in the history of Shimano bait finesse reels by eliminating the brake unit from the spool. It is an unprecedented brake system that applies a magnetic brake directly to the spool.

MICRO MODULE GEAR

State-of-the-art, gear tooth surface design and MicroModule Gear II, are further advanced through Shimano's exclusive manufacturing technology. The surfaces of the drive gear and pinion gear have been analyzed and updated from the ground up in pursuit of perfection. Further improving smooth gear feeling and reducing sound.

X SHIP

X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures, and allow for longer casts.

HAGANE BODY

The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.

MGL SPOOL 3

The MGL III Spool is an ultra-thin spool that thoroughly pursues low inertia. The spool has a reduction in inertia by about 15% compared to the second-generation MGL Spool by using a narrow shape with a width of 19 mm for the outer diameter of 34 mm. Resulting in unparalleled casting performance.
