2024 year model

Evolution Adapted for the Open Seas.

The CERTATE SW is a saltwater-specific model, designed for ease of use and exceptional durability. Building on the 20-year legacy of the CERTATE series, it features next-generation technologies such as the Air Drive Design, full-metal monocoque body, and Magsealed technology. These innovations enhance its rigidity and power, making it ideal for saltwater fishing.

With a thicker drive gear and reinforced engine plate, the CERTATE SW is designed for handling large fish like yellowtail and seabass, ensuring smooth and powerful cranking even under high loads. The ZAION rotor has also been strengthened, increasing rigidity by 39%, and a manual bail return system prevents accidental bail closure during casting.

Waterproof performance has been improved with enhanced seals, protecting the reel from saltwater intrusion. The CERTATE SW is built to meet the challenges of saltwater fishing, offering reliable performance for anglers seeking top-level durability and strength.

MONOCOQUE BODY

This design incorporates a one-piece frame and a one-piece threaded side plate. Because screws are not necessary to attach the side plate and hold the main gear, the interior space in the body is greater allowing for a larger more powerful gear held in place by the lighter, sturdier body rather than the traditional side plate

TOUGH DIGIGEAR

To withstand the harsh environment, the reel needs a strong heart to support it. Tough Digi Gear" keeps smooth rotation longer. The synergistic effect with Mag-Shield refines durability.

AIR ROTOR

Air Rotor is a design triumph, where weight is reduced, rotary balance is even and stress distribution is even.
The enormous strains, which affect the rotor via the line and the line roller are better distributed. This causes less pressure on the single parts of the rotor.
The Air Rotor is 15% lighter than usual rotors of the same material - this reduces vibrations and enhances the rotational balance thanks to the near symmetrical shape and very low centre of gravity.
Under the same strain, a conventional rotor can become much more distorted, due to concentrated pressure point. Air Rotor distributes the stress.

AIRDRIVE BAIL

Trouble free future.
DAIWA has constructed a bail smaller in diameter whilst providing required strength to achieve a further weight reduction to the front unit. In comparison to 18 EXIST, AIRDRIVE BAIL reduces the weight of the bail by 33% (compared to 2500 size).
DAIWA has adjusted the angle of bail setting to improve the line movement into the roller. Careful attention was given to the roller and slider and individual design alterations were done for each size of 22 EXIST, perfectly adjusting the line management for each size of the reel.

AIRDRIVE SHAFT

Friction free rotation.
AIRDRIVE SHAFT has a non contact structure between the mainshaft and the pinion gear. In addition to this, both ends of pinion gear are now supported with bearings to relay the crank power from the handle to the rotor with a higher level of efficiency. By adding high quality collars to the mainshaft, rotational noise has been reduced significantly.

AIRDRIVE SHAFT creates the feel of smooth, quiet rotation and provides anglers with torque and power.
