MICRO MODULE GEAR

State-of-the-art, gear tooth surface design and MicroModule Gear II, are further advanced through Shimano's exclusive manufacturing technology. The surfaces of the drive gear and pinion gear have been analyzed and updated from the ground up in pursuit of perfection. Further improving smooth gear feeling and reducing sound.

X SHIP

X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures, and allow for longer casts.

HAGANE is a Shimano reel design concept created to withstand continual use and extreme abuse. HAGANE is an innovation with built-in toughness and durability that works alongside Shimano's precision engineering. HAGANE is for all anglers.

Every part related to rotation is machined to eliminate the minute play between components, delivering a silky-smooth, silent winding feel.

MGL SPOOL 4

Magnumlite Spool IV adds a reverse-taper shape to the ultra-thin, low-inertia Magnumlite Spool III, correcting the shape of the wound line. A balanced spool suppresses run-out and reduces vibration during the cast, for an exhilarating, extending cast feel.
